Breann joined ASTEC SAFETY in mid-2019 in the role of Finance Coordinator, but is so much more.
You will see her serving customers, registering students, and generally providing the best of support to her ASTEC team mates. Her background in banking and sales, allowed her to hit the ground running. When Breann is asked; “what does she enjoy doing at work”; her response is all about serving, taking care of, and meeting the needs of others. She describes herself as a problem solver who can multi-task to meet deadlines. Just the kind of people that fit at ASTEC SAFETY! She is upbeat, bringing a positive attitude and energy to take on whatever challenges we throw her way. Prior to her departure for maternity leave, she assumed, primary responsibility for Training Co-ordinator functions and supports our compliance software applications like ISNetworld, Complyworks and Avetta.
Cait assumed the role of Training Coordinator in mid-2017 with her a diverse background in the business world.
She is known for her hard work ethic and a passion to put the customer needs first. Her role includes scheduling public safety courses, working with clients that require on-site training and ensuring that all required paperwork is prepared to meet the requirements of our training partners, auditors and professional associations. As Cait’s role has grown within ASTEC, she now is responsible for all day-to-day accounting and business functions, managing cashflow & financial reporting for the entire organization.
Jessie has been with ASTEC SAFETY from the very beginning, starting back in 2001 as a part time training coordinator.
Since then, Jessie has experienced just about every position within the company, becoming our “go to person”. She has been responsible for the invoicing and fire extinguisher service reports for our service department, as well as human resources, payroll, and now directs all the administration functions in the Retail, Service and Rentals department. Jessie leads our respiratory mask fit testing, booking the fire extinguisher trailer and gas monitor repairs. Jessie has received ASTEC’s 10 Year Service Award, as well as Employee of the Year.
Chris is responsible for course dev and research.
In addition, Chris conducts all new instructor certifications. He is a certified Energy Safety Canada Auditor and our in-house content expert on many of the safety disciplines we teach.Chris has a technical background servicing gas detection equipment, fire extinguishers, and breathing apparatus. He has spent time as a safety watch/bottle watch and field technician for air trailers and monitoring systems. Chris moved into a full time instructing role with our company, as of 2006. Chris also holds technician certificates from a number of manufacturers such as BW Technologies by Honeywell, Sperian respiratory equipment and Scott field level maintenance from his time spent as a technician. He is in the process of obtaining his CTP certification through the Canadian Society of Training and Development and has completed both in house and third party instructor training courses.
Jon is responsible for our instructional equipment, classroom settings and procedures.
Jon is an instructor out of the Lloydminster location, teaching a variety of industrial safety courses for Astec. Starting with us in 2013, Jon has broadened his abilities to teach many courses and still continues to add to his certifications. Not only does Jon have oilfield experience to support the material in the courses he instructs, he also enjoys anything outdoors and is always exploring healthy menu options. Ask him about fitness, hunting, guns, or government legislation if you have time to engage in a lengthy debate.
Harold joins us after operating his own oilfield trucking firm hauling oil for customers like Husky Energy.
He is a “lifer” in our region, with sales and marketing experience acquired in the automotive business. He is excited to start the next phase of his career with ASTEC SAFETY, and after serving a 1 year apprenticeship on a part-time basis, we couldn’t be more excited to see how his positive energy, demonstrated commitment to adult learning and his customer service skills will propel his career now that he has made the leap to full-time Instructor. Harold is the proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and enjoys exploring the outdoors whenever he can get away for a vacation.

Jim worked with ASTEC from 2006 to 2008, and was reunited with the ASTEC family in 2013 as the Fire Extinguisher Supervisor.
Jim has 12 years of fire extinguisher maintenance, as well as 3 years of owning his own fire extinguisher company. Jim not only specializes in fire extinguishers, but he handles all the hydro testing as well. He is a certified technician in both of these fields. Any inquiries to do with fire extinguishers, Jim would be your number one choice for quality service.
Joining ASTEC in 2004, Bart took on the role of technician, specializing in air packs, gas monitors and fire extinguishers.
Before the years spent with Astec, Bart spent 13 years at a Fire Department, and has hands on oil field experience as well. Bart is certified through MSA, Survivair and BW in gas detection equipment repair, as well as breathing apparatus. Bart is Astec’s right hand man when it comes to repairs.
Brody has called ASTEC SAFETY-Lloydminster home since early 2018. He has proven his solid work ethic, and technical aptitude.
He has commitment to a career “working with his hands”. Brody said in his interview, through his 6+ years in the mobile communications business, he was ready to pursue a career as a Technician in our Service Department. Brody is a Safety Service Technician who services Fire Extinguishers, Breathing Apparatus (SCBA & SABA) and will be taking on service and diagnostic work for our growing suite of gas monitors. You will often come into contact with Brody if you are in our shop for a Fit Test in the new Fit Test area.
Tyler is the newest member of our service team.
As Astec's newest fire extinguisher technician, Tyler can assist you with your fire extinguisher repair & maintenance in our shop or on your jobsite.
